"Unique & Effective Body Therapy"
About Us

TIFFANY CAMPBELL, founder of Kanna Spa, graduated from the National Holistic Institute in 2005, with 720 hours of training in various modalities of massage therapy (Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Myofascial Release, Swedish, Sports, Reflexology, Pregnancy, Hot Stones massage, etc.) as well as health education. Soon out of school, she worked with both a chiropractor & acupuncturist and began her journey as a therapist. Her love of the basic concepts of yoga (such as the power of breathing, body awareness, clearing the mind & focusing one’s energy within the body), & her intrigue with discovering new ways to listen to & read the body through her hands, has lead her to refine her talents as a therapist. She developed a unique style of addressing chronic body issues (such as pain, stiffness, stress & emotional holding patterns within the body) while allowing her clients to open up & achieve true relaxation through deep effective body work, patience, energy, trust, & intuition.

Tiffany practiced massage at The Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay from 2006-2011 where she benefitted from working with wonderful therapists from around the world, received further training in luxurious spa-style therapies, & acquired a fine taste for quality service standards. Although she is fond of the spa setting, her most fulfilling work has been with clients who have sought after real body work versus the “typical fluffy spa massage.” She prefers to blend the two concepts & various modalities giving her clients the best of both worlds with typically more lasting results. In 2010, she opened her own part time private practice in San Mateo, California, which blossomed into a beautiful full service spa in May of 2012. It brings her great joy everyday to introduce her clients to amazing new talented therapists, effective new services, & a peaceful new spa location.

“It is truly a great feeling when someone walks in the door grumpy, in pain & skeptical, & leaves hugging me & expressing gratitude for a unique experience, relaxation & relief from chronic pain. It’s like they are a different person when they leave my treatment room. I love a challenge. I love making a positive change in someone’s well being. It’s like I can feel their energy beaming with goodness. It makes my whole day & that’s when I know I just love what I do.”

JIM, certified & state licensed massage therapist, graduated from the National Holistic Institute and has practiced in length at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay as well.

Jim was exposed to the many benefits of massage therapy at a very early age. It helped him to overcome physical difficulties growing up which inspired him greatly to pursue a career as a healer. He is passionate about sharing the same gift of quality body work with others.

With over 9 years of professional experience and over 800 hours of training in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Thai Massage (with further studies in Thailand), Shiatsu, Sports, Myofascial Release and Esalen techniques (among others), Jim prefers to utilize a blend of these skills, body listening, & intuition to facilitate healing in others. His spiritually peaceful and relaxed energy is calming and infectious and flows through his hands. His advanced and broad skill set is apparent within each customized session, whether deep or relaxing, his sessions are powerful.

"Every body is a unique experience in a unique moment. It is an absolute honor to be able to work with so many manifestations of the World's energy through massage therapy. The human form is something that I know and am also constantly discovering. It's a deep well of mystery and wonder that fascinates and humbles me above all else."

ALICIA
, certified massage therapist, discovered the power of body work at a very young age. Her father suffered from a bad fall and as a 5 year old child, she instinctively began massaging and walking on his back every evening to ease the pain. From then on, she was inspired and envisioned a future of helping others with their pain and injuries. In 2010, Alicia graduated with 720 hours of training in both Eastern and Western modalities from the National Holistic Institute, and in 2012, became certified in Traditional Thai Massage and Prenatal/Postpartum massage at McKinnon Institute. In 2015, she became Dona Doula certified under the teachings of Carol Shattuck Rice in Albany, CA. In 2016, she was certified as an Aromatherapist at the Aroma Hut Institute. Alicia prides herself on her personalized service, really getting to know each client's body care needs and personal goals.

"I love to work with weekend warriors, active go-getters, working class heroes, Bay Area moms, and moms to be. My goal is not only to have each client feeling wonderful and renewed at the end of a session, but for these efforts to last over time and get better with each appointment."

Alicia specializes in prenatal and postnatal massage, Thai stretching, trigger point therapy and deep structural body work. She enjoys deep tissue modalities with pain and stress reduction as her primary focus in each therapeutic massage session. She is extremely knowledgeable in anatomy and has a deep understanding of the body matched equally with a healing touch.

She is also an artist, photographer and musician who enjoys laughter and creativity

LUBA is a licensed esthetician, passionate about skincare and helping others. She has been providing customized facial and body treatments for all skin types for over 18 years in the Bay Area. She values continued education so that she may remain current with the latest breakthroughs in non-surgical skincare.

LESLEE, certified massage therapist & licensed esthetician, began her journey into the spa and wellness world through her background in dance. After graduating with a BA in Modern Dance from UCLA, Leslee learned to truly appreciate the importance of freedom of movement and the hindering impacts old injuries had on the body. Her interests in bodywork and pampering took flight. She started off as a manicurist and esthetician, but always knew that her path was headed towards helping others maintain their wellness through massage therapy and body awareness.

Leslee is certified in Esalen massage and deep tissue massage therapy from the Esalen Institute in Big Sur where they teach a holistic approach to massage. The Esalen style of massage incorporates long flowing strokes which blend well into any session (deep or generally relaxing) and reconnect the area of focus to the whole body resulting in a deep state of relaxation. She combines her knowledge of kinesiology with client intake information on old injuries and preferences, and known postural habits, to help develop a plan for each session. She works well feedback to customize each session accordingly.

When it comes to skin care, Leslee finds that proper hydration of the body, and the skin directly, hold the greatest importance when it comes to the state of one's epidermis. She believes that dry skin (harsh cleansers, and subpar moisturizers) can be the root cause of many undesirable problems: break outs, and over time - fine lines and wrinkles. She works with each client to figure out what the skin is lacking and will recommend products and services based on her assessment of the skin during a facial.

"What I love most of all is to see the relaxed faces of my clients after a massage. A massage WITH a facial is on another level, facilitating that glow from the inside out, and pampering someone from head to toe makes my day."

"The root of all health is in the brain. The trunk of it is in emotion. The branches and leaves are the body.

The flower of health blooms when all parts work together."

SANDY is a certified yoga instructor and massage therapist whose own illness spurred her interest in holistic healing in 2000. Soon after, she began her massage training at the South Bay Massage College in Manhattan Beach, CA.  She then studied structural integration with Garnet Dupois at the Massage School of Santa Monica and was introduced to Chinese medicine, completed workshops in trigger point therapy and targeted pain management at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Tempe, AZ. She furthered her training in pregnancy, hot stone massage and various spa treatments (body scrubs, wraps, and various other body treatments) through on the job training at two popular SF spas. Locally, Sandy studied with Art Rigs, certified advanced Rolfer, in myofascial release and Eric Rubin in Cranial Sacral Therapy. Sandy continues her pursuit in learning with each client.

Sandy has a special interest in Structural Integration massage.  Structural Integration is a scientifically validated body therapy. Unlike massage, Structural Integration focuses not on the muscles but on their protective layer, called fascia (also known as connective tissue).
Structural Integration aligns and balances the body by lengthening and re positioning the fascia. As fascia is lengthened it allows the muscles to move more efficiently.

Sandy is also a Forrest Yoga teacher who specializes in working with at risk youth, beginners and injuries. Having worked in spas, yoga studios, chiropractic clinics, at  juvenile hall, and at her own practice for over 10 years, she has become skillful at working intimately in both dynamic groups and one on one. Her attention to detail and warm personality create an open space for healing and a deep look inward for her students. Sandy completed the FY Foundation Teacher Training both in 2004 with Ana Forrest & Jonathan Bowra and in 2009 with Ana Forrest and Cheryl Deer, FY Continuing Education Training in 2008 with Pete Guinosso, and the year long FY Mentorship Program with Colleen Millen in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is honored to have assisted Ana Forrest at both the SFYJ Conference and Yoga Tree Castro. Sandy is the Founder and Program Manager for Lemonade – A Yoga Program, working with San Francisco’s incarcerated youth since 2009.

MAUREEN, certified yoga instructor has taught yoga since 2005 and has gained more than 500 hours of yoga training in Ashtanga, Somatic yoga, Hatha yoga in the Anusara style, Yin, Pre-natal and Thai yoga therapy and teaches, Gentle Hatha, Yin, Rest & Restore, Core and Vinyasa yoga.

Yoga was something Maureen was drawn to since she was a teenager in Scotland but her yoga was self-taught from books.  Arriving in the US gave her an opportunity to tap into some of the best yoga teaching available.

She completed her Holistic Health Practitioner training in 2008 and as a Reiki practitioner recognizes that the universe truly is all energy, that we are units of biochemical reactions manifesting at an energetic level. She believes that through yoga, we can manage our energy more effectively, softening our edges, to help us become kinder, more compassionate and empathetic individuals.

Maureen hopes to share yoga with as many people as possible.

During Maureen’s journey through life and yoga, she has been indebted to her teachers: Kim Sol, Erhard Rohrmuller, Roger Cole, Geri Portnoy, John Friend, Martin Kirk, Noah Maze, Bernie Clark, Larry Payne, her family and every student she’s had the fortune to encounter.  Each has enriched her life.

ADRIANA, certified yoga therapist has a passion for her work that is truly infectious and inspiring.

After years of working as a Marketing professional in the Health industry, Adriana realized that there was a different calling for her and decided to share with others how the regular practice of yoga and meditation can touch one so deeply and help attain positive life changes and lasting happiness.  Thus, she became a certified Ananda Yoga Therapist who sees yoga as a path towards physical, mental and spiritual healing.

She fully devotes her energy and time to teaching yoga as a way of helping people from all paths to look within themselves and make the necessary life changes needed to attain their fullest potential.  Her uplifting and joyful teaching style, ability to help students of all levels, compassion and understanding allow her to effectively teach diverse groups in The San Francisco Bay Area such as children, seniors as well individuals with various health conditions.  She is currently working on becoming a life coach focusing on helping people transform their lives from their inside out. She is fluent in both in English and Spanish.

JUSTINE is a certified 200-hour Hatha Yoga instructor from Denver, CO. Yoga has been a very important part of her life for over ten years. Her practice started casually and eventually grew into a way of life. As a student, it helped her become more focused, grounded and centered. After seeing the benefits she received from yoga, the next natural step was to teach and spread the love! She received her certification at Axis School of Yoga in Denver in 2014 and immediately began teaching weekly classes at a local gym in Denver working with students of all ages. She also enjoyed teaching private one-on-one sessions combined with nutritional coaching in her private practice to help clients achieve greater results.

Justine's class style is clear, slower paced, mindful and meditative with an emphasis on breath, alignment and focusing on inner self. She finds the importance of breathing exercises (pranayama) and guided meditations to be aspects that are often overlooked in many yoga classes today, as the physical practice is often the only part of yoga that people are aware of or focused on. Her classes aim to integrate mind and body in a peaceful, non-judgmental way.
